25.10.2019. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left on a working trip the Republic of Azerbaijan for participation in the XVIII Summit of the heads of states and governments of the member states of the Non-Alignment Movement in Baku.

At present time, the organization, which was founded in 1961, unites 120 states located in different region of the world on the principles of non-participation in military and political blocks and peaceful coexistence of countries and nations. 17 states as well as number of competent international organizations including the UN, ICO and other have an observer status under this big association.

The main goal of the Non-alignment Movement is to support peace, security and sustainable development on the planet. As is known, these are the criteria, which put in the base of the state policy of Turkmenistan, which is provided by its permanent neutral status and firm commitment to ideals of creation and humanism. In this regard, it is necessary to highlight that our country invariably takes an active position in development of balanced solutions of current issues and problems, formation of the most effective formats of partnership required by time.

On October 23, 2019, in Tokyo, as part of a working visit of the government delegation of Turkmenistan headed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents was held, reinforcing the desire of the parties to intensify multi-format interaction.
Among them: General agreement between the State Committee for Water Resources of Turkmenistan and the company Itochu Corporation (Japan) on the sale of earth moving equipment; General agreement between the agency Türkmenawtoulaglary of the Ministry of Industry and Communication of Turkmenistan and Sumitomo Corporation (Japan) on cooperation in the field of procurement of vehicles; Memorandum of Understanding between the Türkmengaz State Concern and the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. group of companies (Japan) and the Sojitz Corporation (Japan) on the basis of the results obtained and the construction of the second complex of the current gasoline production plant through refining gas; Supplement No. 2 to the Framework Agreement between the Türkmenhimiýa State Concern and the Mitsubishi Corporation group of companies (Japan) and Gap Inşaat Ýatirim ve Diş Ticaret Anonim Şirketi (Turkey) on cooperation in developing a project for the construction of a new ammonia and urea plant in Turkmenistan; Agreement between the State Concern Türkmenhimiýa and a consortium of Sojitz Corporation, TTCL Public Company Limited, Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri Inşaat Sanaýi ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi on a contractual basis for the design and construction at the Turkmenabat chemical plant of a workshop for the production of concentrated phosphorus fertilizers with full readiness.

23.10.2019. The meeting of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe had a meeting in the Akasaka Hotel in Tokyo.
Welcoming the distinguished guest, the Prime Minister of Japan thanked the President of Turkmenistan for accepting the invitation to visit Tokyo and taking part in the festivities on occasion of Emperor Naruhito’s accession to the throne as well as for the attention paid to issues of interstate relations. Moreover, the high interest of the Land of the Rising Sun in the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan was confirmed.
Prime Minister Shinzō Abe also thanked President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the trust placed in Japanese companies, working on the Turkmen market and participating in major projects.

22.10.2019. The day of the working visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan was full of important events.
The award ceremony of the academic title – the Doctor Honoris Causa of the Hirosaki University to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, took place in Chinzanso Tokyo Hotel in the morning.
Director of the Hirosaki University Sato Kei has warmly and cordially welcomed Turkmen leader in the Ballroom Hall.
The Head of Turkmen State and Director of the University went to the Ceremonial hall where professors, lecturers and students of the University as well as other high educational institutes of Japan, representatives of Japanese – Turkmen Association for Scientific and Technological Cooperation, members of the official delegation of our country have gathered to attend the ceremony.
Everybody was greeting the President of Turkmenistan – the Academic of the academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Medicine and Economy, Honoured Professor of and Doctor of Sciences of number of scientific and educational centres of foreign countries with applauses.

On October 22, 2019, the Chinzanso Tokyo Hotel hosted the ceremony of conferring the academic title of Honorary Doctor of the University of Hirosaki to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who arrived on a working visit to Tokyo the day before.
The ceremony was attended by the faculty and students of the University of Hirosaki, other Japanese universities, representatives of the Japan-Turkmenistan Association for Scientific and Technological Cooperation, members of the official delegation of Turkmenistan.
On behalf of the audience, the rector of the University of Hirosaki Kei Sato warmly greeted President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, emphasizing that this meeting marks a new stage in the development of bilateral relations in the humanitarian sphere, and, first of all, in the field of science.
