09.08.2017. In the framework of the official visit to Azerbaijan, the Turkmen leader visited one of modern Baku’s symbols – the Heydar Aliyev Center. The Center’s management warmly welcomed the distinguished guest at the main entrance.
Coming through the building, which is rightfully considered to be one of the masterpieces of modern architecture, the Turkmen leader asked about the history and features of the Center. In the information submitted, it was noted that the Centre was established according to the Ukase of President Ilham Aliyev, dated December 29, 2006. Its main task is the promotion of strenuous development of history, language, cultural, national and spiritual values.
This unique construction was erected upon the original project of famous architect Zaha Hadid – the only woman honored with the highest award – the Pritzker Architecture Prize.
The complex consists of three main components. One part is occupied by the Heydar Aliyev’s Museum, three floors of which contain a collection of exhibits, narrating his life and work. The other section houses exhibition halls with galleries, disposing archaeology, history, folk art expositions. There are also several halls, showcasing the works of contemporary artists and photographers as from Azerbaijan so other countries of the world. The third part is occupied by a 4-level concert hall, named as the Auditorium, with facilities for conferences and a media center. A beautiful landscape park with two decorative pools and an artificial lake is laid out around the Center. The building has various interactive information kiosks, where guests can obtain information about the Center and arrangements, effected here.
The Center’s opening ceremony was held on May 10, 2012 on the occasion of the 89th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev.
Acquaintance of the head of Turkmenistan with the Museum’s expositions was began from a presentation of the painting, glorifying the beauty of nature of Azerbaijan. Then, a collection of cars, being in official use of Heydar Aliyev was demonstrated to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During the Museum’s creation, special attention was paid to the reflection of the history of Azerbaijan and the life and work of the outstanding political leader of the friendly state.

On August 8, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov is to conduct an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan at the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.

During the summit meeting in Baku, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and President Ilham Aliyev will exchange opinions on a broad spectrum of issues of bilateral cooperation.

The talks are expected to focus on mechanisms of strengthening and diversifying the trade-economic relations. Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan have enormous natural-resources potential, including vast hydrocarbon resources. This offers excellent prospects for fruitful contacts in the strategically important spheres.

The two neighboring countries’ geographical location also creates essential prerequisites for successfully combined efforts to implement projects on building modern transcontinental communications corridors that link Europe and Asia and offer the best access to overall and sea routes for freight transportation, and their integration into international logistics infrastructure.

The Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation as well as private business enterprises play an instrumental role in identifying new areas of cooperation and promoting business ties.

07.08.2017. Past week 42 transactions were registered at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.
For the foreign currency businessmen from Great Britain, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Afghanistan and others bought the hydrofined diesel fuel, aviation and lighting kerosene, gasoline manufactured at Turkmenbashi oil refineries complex and also iodine technical (SC "Turkmenkhimiya"). Besides it, for the foreign currency representatives of business circles of Russia obtained colour terry products in assortment, gauze fabric and waste of spinning manufacture. The total sum of transactions exceeded 34 million 388 thousand US dollars.
For the home market local businessmen bought food wheat for the sum of 819 thousand manats.

President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has convened a working meeting to consider and tackle specific tasks (among other matters) in the light of preparations for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, including in the services, trade and public sectors. Some Cabinet Deputies Chairman and senior officials of sectoral ministries and agencies were among those attending the meeting.
Addressing the meeting participants, the President of Turkmenistan has highlighted that there is very little time left before the start of the 2017 Asian Games, having reminded that thousands of athletes and guests from 64 countries of Asia and Oceania as well as a refugee team will participate in the Games.
The participants in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games should be well supplied with everything necessary, including high-quality products, manufactured by domestic producers, textiles, food, souvenirs, and others. Through the medium of the Ashgabat 2017 Asian Games, we should showcase worldwide our people’s noble customs and traditions, their hospitality and indissoluble national unity, the head of state noted, having given issue-associated instructions to the meeting attendees.
At the meeting, special accent was placed on the need to supply athletes and guests participating in the Games with a wide range of high-quality food products, manufactured by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Economy, and the State Food Industry Association.
