The role of the private sector in the life of the country

During the meeting of the People's Council, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke about the role of supporting private entrepreneurship as one of the most important priorities of the state's socio-economic policy.

Currently, Turkmenistan has created legal, financial, economic and social instruments for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, support for the private sector of the national economy and entrepreneurial initiative.

The private sector of the economy plays an important role in the implementation of the program to establish the production of high-quality and competitive products, in the saturation of the food market, the construction of new social and economic facilities - shopping centers, industrial enterprises, new settlements, etc.

“I would like to separately note,” President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, “the work of individual enterprises engaged in the production of import-substituting and export-oriented products, the construction of the Turkmenabat-Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi highway and the modern administrative center of the Akhal region, as well as the implementation of other large projects.

The head of state stressed that the granting of observer status to Turkmenistan in the World Trade Organization opens up new opportunities for attracting foreign investments to the economy, creating additional jobs. The Turkmen society faces key tasks to increase the volume of agricultural production, rational use of land and water resources. Solving these problems requires the introduction of modern technologies with the involvement of private business, for which it is necessary to organize the training of highly qualified specialists.
