22.10.2018. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held working video conference session with the participation of the Speaker of the Mejlis, number of Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers and Hyakim of Ashgabat. Priority objectives of social and economic development of the country and other important matters of the state life have been reviewed.
Having highlighted the agenda, the President of Turkmenistan called Chairperson of the Mejlis G. Mammedova who informed about regular session of National Parliament of the sixth convocation on October 20 and on legal documents, which were adopted at the session.
It was mentioned that adopted Laws of Turkmenistan on Land Reclamation, on Radio Frequency Spectrum, on Trilateral Commission for Regulation of Social and Working Relations as well as other legal and regulatory acts have been elaborated according to the priorities of the state policy, new edition of the Constitution and objectives set by the Head of Turkmenistan for national economy at the first session of the People’s Council as well as with the Programme of modernization of legislation base of the country.
Having focused on the realization of the decisions of the People’s Council, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the necessity to speed up the work for improvement of the legislation in agricultural complex, particularly those related to water resources, rational water use, ecology and innovations in this activity. We have to make all reforms in agricultural complex as soon as possible and comprehensively, the Head of the State summed up.

20.10.2018. Regular third session of the Mejlis of the sixth convocation was held, during which number of laws and regulatory and legal acts developed in accordance with priorities of the state policy, new edition of the Constitution and integrated programme of modernization of legal framework of the country have been adopted. Representatives of relevant ministries and departments as well as mass media have been invited to participate in the session.

Draft Law of Turkmenistan on Reclamation of Lands has been presented for review by the parliamentarians. It was noted that large-scale reforms are carried out in the agricultural sector of the country, which received new impulse at the first session of the People’s Council recently.

Special attention is paid to use of land and water resources in social and economic strategy as to important factor of dynamic development of agricultural complex, increment of production volumes of various agricultural products and environmental protection.

20.10.2018. 53 transactions were concluded at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week.

Businessmen from Russia, Switzerland, the UAE, the UK, Turkey, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan among others purchased low-sulfur furnace oil and petroleum asphalt produced at the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. Businessmen from Switzerland, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and others purchased petroleum asphalt produced at the Seydi oil refinery.

In addition, businessmen from Russian Federation, Hong Kong, Turkey, the UAE, Armenia purchased colorless sheet glass, cotton cloth and yarn, cotton fiber, and commercial cotton wool. The total amount of transactions exceeded US$ 109.480 million.

Businessmen from Russia, the UK, the UAE and Pakistan concluded transactions in deposit manats for textile products, blended and cotton yarn to the total amount of 2.736 million manats.

19.10.2018. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers where topical issues of the state policy have been reviewed. Leaders of number of the ministries and departments, directors of high educational institutes have been invited to the session.

Having announced the agenda, the Head of the State gave floor to Speaker of the Mejlis G. Mammedova who informed on the work for improvement of the legislation, preparation to regular session of National Parliament as well as on the outcomes of the working visit of Turkmenistan delegation to Geneva, Switzerland for participation in the 139th Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union.

It was highlighted that elaboration of new laws is carried out in the context of the main priorities of the state policy. Bills aimed at the improvement of existing legislation in certain fields and at dynamic promotion of social and economic changes in general will be discussed at the next session of the Mejlis of the sixth convocation on October 20 this year.

This year, in Dashoguz Velayat, it is planned to produce 230,000 tons of cotton from 140,000 hectares of cotton plantations. The specialized highly productive equipment allow maintaining the high paces of the harvesting campaign.
Cotton growers in S. Turkmenbashi Etrap, S.A. Niyazov Etrap and Georogly Etrap demonstrate the best results in the region.
The necessary conditions for round-the-clock technical and service maintenance of the equipment, work and good rest for machine operators and other participants in the harvesting campaign have been created everywhere.
The Resolution “On the further improvement of agricultural” adopted during a session of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan that envisages the involvement of private producers, as well as the measures on the rational use of land and water resources promotes improving labour efficiency. The increase of the government purchase prices for wheat and cotton as well as the services related to the cultivation of these strategic crops are among the other steps to further encourage agricultural producers.
