11.05.2018. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers where the course of fulfilment of the President’s programme of social and economic development of the country and other priority subjects of the state life have been reviewed.
Having announced the agenda, the Head of the State gave floor to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister R. Meredov who reported on the preparation of working visit of Turkmenistan delegation to the Islamic Republic of Iran on May 12 – 13.
In this regard, it was informed that at present time, the Ministry works on practical implementation of bilateral agreements achieved on high level during the official visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to our country in March of this year.
During the visit of Turkmenistan delegation to Iran, it is planned to have number of meetings with profile ministries and to discuss topical issues of Turkmen – Iranian cooperation in key directions.
Summing up the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated with delight invariably friendly constructive character of interstate relations with neighbouring country. The President noted that cooperation between our countries has considerable potential in different spheres, which realization meet not only mutual interests but also the goals of wealth and prosperity of the region. Successfully developing versatile partnership on bilateral level. Turkmenistan and Iran also actively cooperate under competent international organizations.
Speaking of the necessity of efficient implementation of existing capabilities for the achievement of the agreements and further improvement of fruitful Turkmen – Iranian relations in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, the Head of the State gave number of specific assignments to the Vice-premier.

11.05.2018. During the session of the Government on May 11, the President of Turkmenistan focused in the involvement of the potential of railway sphere for the development of multimodal transport and communication system. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that International Seaport was opened in Caspian Sea recently, which operation undoubtedly would lead to strategic changes of logistic infrastructure of continental communications. Turkmen transit hubs will be important components of this system.
New railway stations have been built, new roads meeting international standards have been laid and existing railways have been modernized, the Head of the State said. Having also noted the importance of efficient implementation of modern environmentally friendly technologies, the President of Turkmenistan highlighted the appropriateness of the electrification of the railways and addressed the Vice-premier with number of specific assignments.


On May 10, 2018, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there were political consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Palestine. The Palestinian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mazen Shamia.
The parties discussed the current state of relations and outlined the directions for their further expansion. Noting the high level of political and diplomatic cooperation, the sides expressed their commitment to the activation of relations emanating from the bilateral legal framework. Among the priorities, the parties noted the cooperation between parliamentarians, as well as in the fields of medicine and pharmaceutics, construction, agriculture and water resources.
The heads of the delegations discussed the issues of the conclusion of trade and economic relations to a new level. In this regard, issues of implementing joint projects involving business structures of both countries, as well as opportunities for investing foreign investments were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of continuing the established dialogue at various levels for further diversification of fruitful cooperation that meets mutual interests.


On May 8, 2018, OSCE Human Dimension Committee meeting on "Gender Equality" took place in Vienna. The Ombudsman of Turkmenistan Y.Gurbannazarova attended this meeting and presented a report on the gender situation in the country.
In her speech, Y.Gurbannazarova informed the meeting about the gender policy of Turkmenistan, equal participation of women in all spheres of socio-political, economic, social and cultural life of the country. In particular, she noted that within the framework of the National Action Plan of the country on gender equality for 2015-2020, the Government of Turkmenistan has implemented concrete measures and actions. The Ombudsman stated that the status of women in Turkmenistan is determined by the overall strategy and priority directions of the state policy on women, the purpose of which is to implement the principle of equal rights and freedoms, create equal opportunities for men and women in accordance with the Constitution, international obligations and recommendations of the IV World Conference on women (Beijing, 1995), as well as the basic documents of the United Nations.
In addition, Y.Gurbannazarova informed the participants about the activities of the Institute of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan, which was opened in March 2017. Close cooperation of the Ombudsman's Institute with the OSCE, the UN and other international structures, as well as representatives of civil society was underlined as well.


10.05.2018. President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov handed in the flags of the Armed Forces.

Military personnel – the participants of the event, lined up in President Palace Complex awaiting for the Head of the State. The event was highlighted with special significance and symbolism by the fact that it occurred in anticipation of the Constitution Day and the Day of the State Flag, which are observed in our country as one holiday – the event that embodies spiritual and patriotic traditions of our nation.

The President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country entered the Oguzkhan Hall. Secretary of the State Security Council, Defence Minister Ya. Berdiyev made report to the Head of the State.

Having received the report, the Head of the State greeted the military personnel. After, the Secretary of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan read out the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan on combat colours to military divisions.

Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov handed in the colours to the commanders of the Ground, Air and Air Defence Forces, NAVY as well as to the commanders of certain divisions of the State Border Guard Service of Turkmenistan.
