09.02.2018. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers where topical issues of social and economic development of the country and foreign policy of the State have been reviewed.

First, the floor was given to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers G. Myradov who reported on the situation in the spheres under his supervision and on fulfilment of the assignments given by the Head of the State.

Having reported on the work for study of opportunities of financing of directions oriented to import production as well as beneficial banking services for local exporters, the Vice-premier presented relative proposal for review by the Head of the State.

In addition, the information on implementation of custom fees for certain production imported to Turkmenistan was presented.

Summing up the report, the Head of the State pointed out the importance of activation of measures for further reformation of the activity of ministries and departments of financial and economic sector, intensification of work for the realization of Presidential programme of the country development. The necessity of improvement of work of the State Statistic Committee has also been highlighted.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers O. Gurbannazarov reported on the activity of trade complex and on the work carried out by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on the development of production infrastructure in food industry.

09.02.2018. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan to develop the new state programme “Digital Turkmenistan” aimed at promoting the development of the information and communication technology and increasing the contribution of this sector into the GDP of the country, as well as reducing the ‘digital difference’ in the people’s everyday life in the regions, cities and villages.
This programme is designed to accelerate the transfer to the innovative rails of the national economy, increase employment in knowledge-based industries, introduce the advanced technologies in production, and transfer to the electronic document management and electronic identification system.
Turkmenistan has significant opportunities for the development of digital infrastructure using telemedicine, computer and telecommunication technologies through the additional electronic services to provide distance consultations and knowledge.


09.02.2018. Reporting during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers D. Amangeldiev noted that in order to ensure the uninterrupted power supply to consumers, it is planned to build up a ring energy system.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, there are currently 13 power stations in the country. In order to ensure the uninterrupted power supply to consumers, it is planned to build up a ring energy system. In particular, it is planned to build a two-ring 220 kV transmission line and a 220-kV power plant that will unite the energy systems of the Ahal and Balkan Velayats, as well as a 500 kV single-ring power line and a 500-kV power plant in the city of Balkanabat, 500 kV and 200 kV power stations – in the city of Dashoguz and 220 kV power lines that will unite them. It was also reported that it is planned to build the power engineering equipment service center.
Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined that the government would continue paying particular attention to enhancing the capacity and strengthening the material and technical base of the industry. The state energy policy is aimed to satisfy the needs of the industry, agricultural sector, social sphere, as well as to increase the export volumes. The Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to speed up the implementation of the sectoral infrastructural projects in order to build up the ring energy system.
The President of Turkmenistan approved the proposal to establish the power engineering equipment service center, underlining the importance to introduce progressive forms of management and management methods.


09.02.2018. Days of Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran were closed in the capital. The final event of the celebrations was a concert of art masters of the two countries at the National Music and Drama Theater named after Makhtumkuli.
The large-scale cultural action resulted in a bright and warm holiday of friendship and creativity, served to further development of the Turkmen-Iranian dialogue.
The events held within the framework of Days of Iranian Culture introduced the Ashgabat residents and guests of the Turkmen capital to the diversity of art of the friendly people, its distinctive traditions, modern achievements in this field. Performances of musicians, folklore ensemble, children's collective, demonstration of Iranian films, a review of arts and crafts, master classes and creative meetings greatly expanded our understanding of the history and today of Iran.
The exhibition, held within the framework of the action in the State Museum of Fine Arts, reflected the ancient roots, uniqueness and continuity of the applied art and folk crafts of the neighboring country.
Amazing decorative works of metal, wood, leather, stone, exquisite jewelry, magnificent vases, pitchers and plates with images of birds and animals, literary subjects were presented here.
Samples of national costumes, famous Iranian printed fabrics and rugs, wooden boxes with artistic painting, chasing were also demonstrated. It was difficult to tear your eyes away from graceful miniatures, intricate ceramics, playing with forms and colors of services, products made of turquoise.
Paintings that were refined in their texture from cloth scraps caused particular interest of the visitors. The works of Iranian craftsmen reflected landscapes, architecture, famous places of Iran and world sights, colorful portraits and everyday scenes. Shamali - calligraphy panels amazing in beauty, in a refined ligature which captures quotes, including the great Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fragi admire the visitors.
The photo exhibit introduced the Turkmen people with the potential of the tourist sphere of Iran. A special stand was dedicated to the book production of this country.

09.02.2018. At the February 9 meeting of the government, Vice-premier B. Abdyeva, who oversees the sphere of culture, reported on new finds, discovered in Dandanakan fortress in Mary velayat. Archaeological research on this medieval monument, located 30 kilometers west of Mary city is conducted in the framework of work on studying the historical and cultural heritage of the Great Silk Road.

Last spring, a group of specialists and archaeologists of the National Directorate of Turkmenistan for the protection, study and restoration of historical and cultural monuments, state historical and cultural reserves "Ancient Merv" and "Old Serakhs" launched research.

Unique finds discovered on a large area in the south-eastern part of the fortress were the result of the autumn archaeological season. There were found a fortified wall of burnt bricks and several rooms and outside the fortress there was a water pipe and ceramic pipes built of burnt bricks.

In addition, during the archaeological excavations medieval structures of burnt bricks were found, differing from the usual residential buildings by the arrangement of rooms. In one of them, numerous fragments of glassware and preserved original glass vessels were found, as well as several small metal tools. The results of comparative laboratory studies allow us to state that these objects are medical instruments of medieval healers.

As it was reported, after carrying out the necessary restoration and conservation works, they will become priceless exhibits of the museums of our country. Currently, these artifacts are stored in the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Ancient Merv", where the primary conservation works are being conducted.

In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the finds of Dandanakan fortress are of great importance and shed light on the ancient history of our country, being evidence of the high culture of Turkmen, their contribution to the development of sciences and to the universal civilization. The work carried out by scientists and archaeologists in this direction should be appreciated at true value.
