12.02.2018. Agricultural Complex of the capital held the conference where the matters of further development of water sphere of the country have been discussed. Hyakims of the velayats, deputies of the Mejlis, heads and leading specialists of agricultural complex, number of ministries and departments, State Commercial Bank Dayhanbank as well as representatives of the Academy of Sciences, personnel of water management, professors and lecturers of profile universities, personnel of scientific and research institutes took part in the meeting.

During the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on February 9, the Head of the State ordered to elaborate the programme of the development of water management of Turkmenistan for 2018 – 2030. The President outlines number of topical objectives that are aimed at efficient involvement of existing potential of water management sector of the country and at the support of the improvement of this sphere. The objectives include the implementation of modern irrigation methods taking into account natural and climate conditions of the country, advanced technologies of rational water use, improvement of soil conditions and other.

Equipment and facilities base of water sector is consolidated deliberately under large-scale reforms today. Big financial means are invested for technical rearmament of this important sphere and new hydro technical facilities are opened in all velayats. Successful realization of branch projects supports efficient development of agrarian sector, increment of grain, cotton and other agricultural crops production volumes.

Therefore, water complex supplying around 25 thousand hectares of land has been put into operation in Ahal Velayat in 2016. It includes different hydro technical engineering facilities providing water intake from Karakum River and supply of necessary volumes to agricultural fields.

11.02.2018. President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the temporary military training area of the air defense forces and inspected the technological infrastructure and potential of the air forces.
As is known, the President of Turkmenistan regularly inspects the progress of the modernization and reformation of the law enforcement agencies of the country, the current situation in the military and law enforcement agencies, the samples of new equipment, paying particular attention to the creation of the favourable conditions for the members of the armed forces.
During a recent trip to the Balkan Velayat, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening ceremony of the complex of buildings of the Avaza frontier post that replenished the infrastructure of the State Border Service. The Turkmen leader was presented with combat and patrol ships, boats, various types of special equipment intended to protect the maritime boundaries.
Last month, the Turkmen leader inspected the progress of works on strengthening the material and technical potential of the air forces, visiting the airbase, where he personally tested a new military helicopter.
The Turkmen leader also visited the temporary military training area of the air defense forces.
Early in the morning, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected a new armed vehicle in the air, and then made a trip around the surrounding territories, driving a special purpose vehicle.
Secretary of the State Security Council Ya. Berdyev reported on the readiness of the armed forces personnel and the samples of new military and special equipment for inspection. The advanced equipment received from the best world manufacturers will be involved in protecting the borders of the country.

10.02.2018. Turkmenistan, paying great attention to strategic partnership with the UN and its specialized agencies, actively develops cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Such unique historical and cultural monuments of Turkmenistan as Ancient Merv, Kunyaurgench and Old Nisa have been already included to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Turkmen national art of singing and dancing kushtdepdy was included to the Representative List of Non-material cultural heritage in December 2017. At present time, relative measures for inclusion of Turkmen carpet art and ahalteke horse breeding to this prestigious list and on inclusion of Koytendag ecosystem and State Reserve Badhyz to the UNESCO World Heirtage List.

In November of the last year, Turkmenistan was elected to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport in 2017 – 2021. According to the final Declaration of International Sport Congress in April of the last year in Avaza National tourist zone, Turkmenistan plans to hold the UNESCO VII International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport (MINEPS VII) in 2021.


10.02.2018. Past week at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan 20 transactions were registered.

For the foreign currency businessmen from Afghanistan bought diesel fuel manufactured by Turkmenbashi oil refineries complex. Besides it, for the foreign currency cotton yarn and cotton fibre was realised. The countries-buyers: Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Pakistan. The total sum of transactions made up over 50 million 585 thousand US dollars.

For the manat businessmen from Russia, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan purchased cotton yarn for a total sum of over 5 million 912 thousand manats.

09.02.2018. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers where topical issues of social and economic development of the country and foreign policy of the State have been reviewed.

First, the floor was given to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers G. Myradov who reported on the situation in the spheres under his supervision and on fulfilment of the assignments given by the Head of the State.

Having reported on the work for study of opportunities of financing of directions oriented to import production as well as beneficial banking services for local exporters, the Vice-premier presented relative proposal for review by the Head of the State.

In addition, the information on implementation of custom fees for certain production imported to Turkmenistan was presented.

Summing up the report, the Head of the State pointed out the importance of activation of measures for further reformation of the activity of ministries and departments of financial and economic sector, intensification of work for the realization of Presidential programme of the country development. The necessity of improvement of work of the State Statistic Committee has also been highlighted.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers O. Gurbannazarov reported on the activity of trade complex and on the work carried out by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on the development of production infrastructure in food industry.
