03.02.2019. In the morning, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made cycling ride in the Kopetdag foothills as well as visited Ahalteke Equestrian Complex.
Early in the morning, the Head of Turkmenistan came to picturesque place located in the Kopetdag foothills. It opens beautiful view of Ashgabat with slim white-marble buildings resembling scattered pearls. Wonderful fresh air of the last winter month and magnificent view of the foothills as well as renewed appearance of the capital cannot help impressing.
While riding a bicycle, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov enjoyed the beauty of surrounding landscape, originality of this part of nature, in the meantime inspecting the work for care of forest zones, which borders are expanding every year. In the result of this activity, the southwestern part and outskirts of the capital has changed beyond recognition.
Million juniper, deciduous and coniferous trees, which turn into thick shady groves making good effect on microclimate and giving refreshing coolness in summer day, enriching flora and fauna, have been planted in the foothill areas of Ashgabat during nation-wide tree planting campaigns.
Environmental protection and careful treatment of nature are one of the main directions of the state policy of Turkmenistan. In this context, the bicycle is the most environmentally friendly type of transport and the best choice for active leisure.

02.02.2019. 40 transactions were registered past week at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

Businessmen from the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Estonia, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan purchased, in foreign currency, road bitumen produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries; businessmen from the Russian Federation bought high-density polyethylene and polypropylene made at the Kiyanly Polymer Plant. Carbamide produced by Turkmenhimiya State Concern was purchased by businessmen from the UK, UAE, Afghanistan and others.

Cotton yarn, terry cloth, household cotton, Portland cement, bath salt and cosmetic clay were sold in foreign currency. The Russian Federation, Turkey, UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan were the buyer countries. The total value of transactions exceeded 33 million 274 thousand US dollars.

Cotton yarn worth over 15 million 553 thousand manats was purchased by businessmen from the UK, Canada and China in local currency.

Cotton fiber worth 315 thousand manats was purchased by local entrepreneurs for the domestic market.

01.02.2019. President of Turkmenistan held extended session of the Cabinet of Minsiters where outcomes of social and economic development of the country for the last year have been discussed as well as personnel issues have been reviewed.

Members of the State Security Council, Leaders of the Mejlis, ministries and departments, administrations of cities, velayats and etraps, universities, mass media and other have been invited to the session.

Having announced the agenda, the Head of the State gave floor to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers G. Myradov. Reporting on the outcomes of development of national economy in 2018, the Vice-premier informed that high results have been achieved in all branches.

By the outcomes of the year, the growth rates of production is 5 percent higher than in 2017.

Information on the outcomes achieved by the ministries and departments of the country for the period under review has been presented in the report.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed an Order announcing the district of Esenguly of the province of Balkan the winner of the 2018 contest between provincial districts and towns with district status for outstanding performance in social, economic and cultural spheres, and awarding the Esenguly District Administration with the prize money of 1 million US dollars.
The document authorizes the Central Bank to allocate the above funds from the State Fund for Development.


On January 31, 2019, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with a delegation that arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit headed by the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues related to the development of cooperation between the EU and Turkmenistan in 2019. In this context, in order to strengthen cooperation, the issue of opening a representation of the European Union in Turkmenistan was emphasized.
Also, there was an exchange of views on the new strategy of the Union for Central Asia, which is the European vision for the development of mutually beneficial relations between Europe and Asia. This strategy is based on three priority directions for the EU: building up transport links, creating energy and digital networks, and expanding contacts between people.
Further, the issues of strengthening regional and inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as the development of relations in the fields of logistics, transport, energy and humanitarian relations were discussed. Based on this, the sides discussed the priorities of the Turkmenistan Presidency at IFAS and the initiatives of Turkmenistan and Romania to create a Caspian Sea - Black Sea transport and transit corridor, including the route Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania.
The sides also discussed the security situation in Central Asia and Afghanistan and exchanged views on improving interaction in the region.
